Other Project 52's

Lest week, I told you about a weekly photo project that I started.  The person from whom I got the idea has put up a blog chronicling her own Project 52.  Please check out her site and encourage her in the completion of her project.

Project 52 - Week 1

1/80 sec at f/4.0 ISO 800 50mm

Welcome to week one of my Project 52.  This is my first picture for my photo a week project.  The subject for the month of January is Bokeh.  For those of you don't know, bokah refers to the way a camera lens renders out of focus areas of a picture.  In my picture above, I used a large aperture of f/4 to place the tree in the background out of focus and emphasize the bokeh caused by the lights.

Project 52

Someone on the New York Institute of Photography's message board proposed a project for the new year.  The person who proposed is is calling it Project 52.  The purpose of the project is to take at least one picture a week.  The first three weeks of the month will be on a specific theme, and the fourth week will be a wild card week where any subject can be shot. Here are the monthly themes:

January - Bokeh shots
February - Winter scenes
March - Shapes
April - Colors
May - Monochrome (B/W)
June - Textures
July - Macro
August - People
September - Shoes
October - Trees
November - Animals
December - Lights

I invite anyone out there to join me in this project.  If you wish, you can follow the project here.  I will be posting my pictures here and I may set up an online album for them in the future.
